Portset Scan & Read software
Portset’s latest and most advanced document reading system provides portability by being a 12 volt direct current (DC) operated device.

Supplied with a 110/230 volt AC adaptor and a cigar lighter plug makes it the ideal device to meet today’s need for portability.

Suitable to use in cars, vehicles and caravans means you can use the Portset Portable Reader whilst on the move.

In addition to scanning documents it can read from a range of file formats and supports two USB high speed output ports.

Additional features included: TNAUK text newspaper reader, a HTML reader, MP3 player, spoken file and folder locator and optional Daisy player. The USB port allows for a CD, Memory device or even Braille cell to be connected.

Portset's Portable Reader has 3 voices, and includes, Jane, the near human voice of high clarity and comprehension.
A wide range of other languages are available each of similar human speech quality.

There are three separate OCR engines running concurrently to reduce errors; the resulting text accuracy is extremely high.

Page orientation is not important as the software will automatically adjust the scanned image for the correct reading.

Navigation of the document is easy and provides for spoken sentences, words or the spelling of words.

Help is always available, as the user moves from function to function, the help facility moves with them.

Document saving and retrieval is incorporated using a time and date stamp together with the first words of he scanned document.

Saving and retrieval can be either to or from the system hard drive, floppy disk or via the USB port.

The voice speed can be changed to suit individual users. A quick fast read feature allows for fast forwarding through the document.
