The Speech Enabled Internet and Email from Portset.

To meet the ever increasing need of the Visually impaired, Portset has designed a simple way to get the benefits of the Internet and Email at an affordable price.

The Portset Internet System speaks to you from switch on and allows you to have immediate access to the web with the speech empowered browser WebTalk. Aimed at anyone who wants to harness the power of the technology era, the Portset Internet System gives you a quality and reliable solution that is easy to use.

The system is ready to go from delivery. Just unpack, connect to a power socket and a telephone connector. Supplied with an attached keyboard, or choose the wireless keyboard option at purchase.

The system incorporates stereo loudspeakers, a compact disk (CD) player and diskette drive.

Whilst designed to give immediate access to the Internet and Email, you can also obtain other Portset applications, such as the Portset Scan and Read, a Wordprocessor or the Talking Newspaper reader.

To help you use the keyboard and to get familiar with it's keys, we are including KeySpeak Typing Tutor which will help you to learn the keyboard. It's great fun to use as it guides you to a full understanding of touch typing skills and the location of the rows and positions.

Included in the price is a first year subscription to the Portset ISP. An ISP, or Internet Service Provider, is the facility that gives you access onto the Internet highway called the world wide web. It also provides you with a post box for you to send and receive your email. The Portset ISP is contacted automatically over the telephone connection with a 0845 lo-call number. When connected WebTalk gives you the world wide web at your fingertips.

Available as an option is a wireless keyboard. This is a keyboard with no physical connection to the system and allows you total freedom to use it anywhere in the room, like sitting in a chair with the keyboard on your lap. This is a new concept that we have incorporated to make a wire free solution.
